A Guide to The Yokatopia Foundation

Message from Michisada Kamata
Chairperson of the Governing Board

Kyushu and Fukuoka have both geographically and historically deep international connections, especially with countries in Asia. Against this background, in an effort to deepen exchanges with Asian countries, the “Asian-Pacific Exposition (Yokatopia)” held in Fukuoka in 1989 achieved great success.
The Yokatopia Foundation was established in 1990 with the desire to carry forward this success by carrying out programs related to the promotion of international exchange and goodwill in fields such as culture, sport, economy and learning, and thereby contribute to the furtherance of international mutual understanding together with regional vitalization and development in Kyushu and Fukuoka.
