Currently (as of December 2003), there have not been any reported cases of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) in Japan. However, it is very important to have accurate knowledge on its prevention to protect both yourself and the people around you. If you suspect you are infected, avoid contact with other people, do not leave your home, and call your local healthcare center immediately. (Contact Chuo Health & Welfare Center after 17:00).
※The precursors and symptoms of SARS infection are as follows:
| Precursors include those who have come back from a trip to a SARS alert area or those who have come into contact with a SARS patient within the last ten days. Symptoms include a fever of higher than 38 degrees, coughing, and difficulty in breathing. |
In case you are concerned of the infection of any infectious diseases, consult
the local health and welfare center immediately by phone. If you are not able
to communicate, ask for a language support at Rainbow Plaza by
phone 092-733-2220.
