International Student Scholarships

The following scholarships are provided by companies, groups, and individuals, as well as the Rainbow International Student Fund, to support international students enrolled in universities and junior colleges in the Fukuoka metropolitan area. Scholarships are intended to alleviate financial burdens so that students may focus on their studies.

Fukuoka City Rainbow Scholarship

Stipend 20,000 yen/month
Number of Recipients 90 students
Duration 1 year
Eligibility International students who are enrolled in junior college or university in the Fukuoka metropolitan area and who are currently not receiving any other scholarships.
Application Method Apply to the Fukuoka City International Foundation through your university/junior College.
Recruitment Period Scheduled from mid-April to late May (anticipated)

Yokatopia Scholarship for International Students
(includes work experience opportunity)

Stipend 60,000 yen/month
Number of Recipients 6 students
Duration 1 year (may be extended depending on circumstances)
Eligibility Postgraduate students or undergraduate students in their second year or above, who are enrolled at a university in the Fukuoka Metropolitan Area and whose total received scholarship amount, including this scholarship, does not exceed the amount of the MEXT (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship

Future Development Scholarship for International Students

The Future Development Scholarship for International Students is provided by businesses, organizations, and individuals who choose their own scholarship name and recipient. The scholarship provides undergraduates with an estimated 300,000 yen or more per year, and graduate students with 500,000 yen or more per year, and allows the scholarship providers to meet the students face-to-face.
